We are looking for a Capex Procurement Engineer with experience in industrial project procurement including factory expansion, equipment addition, shutdown projects, and utilities procurement. The candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities from conceptualization to successful commissioning of equipment, along with coordination across consultants, factory operations, and corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement for Capex projects including factory expansion, equipment addition, shutdown projects, and utilities systems.
Work from conceptual stage to final commissioning ensuring timely execution.
Study existing setups and perform gap analysis.
Prepare conceptual proposals, feasibility studies, and equipment sizing calculations.
Define and finalize project scope and delegate based on work packages.
Coordinate with external consultants for design, technical validation, and project execution.
Ensure effective coordination between factory, headquarters, and cross-functional teams including finance, production, stores, and project management.
Float RFQs, collect quotations, and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
Prepare comparative statements (CS) and detailed justification presentations.
Negotiate with suppliers and place purchase orders with optimized terms.
Track procurement activities from PO, PO amendments to delivery and ensure timely availability at site.
Conduct supplier visits, audits, and technical discussions.
Support site activities during installation, testing, and commissioning.
Support in Maintenance, Repair, procurement and service activities across the plants
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for procurement decisions.
Prepare, manage, and monitor project procurement budgets and cost tracking.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of industrial equipment and utility systems.
Experience in Capex sourcing and project procurement.
Techno-commercial negotiation and vendor management skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of SAP/ERP, systems Autocad preferred.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and functions.
