Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate machines as per SOP, work instructions, and process parameters.
  2. Set and adjust machine parameters such as speed, feed, pressure, temperature, etc., as applicable.
  3. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments.
  4. Maintain required dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  5. Identify and report machine abnormalities, defects, and process deviations.
  6. Perform basic machine cleaning, lubrication, and autonomous maintenance activities.
  7. Follow 5S standards and maintain a clean and organized workplace.
  8. Achieve daily/shift-wise production targets while maintaining quality.
  9. Reduce machine idle time, setup time, rejection, and material wastage.
  10. Record production quantities, rejections, downtime, and other required data.
  11. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and EHS standards.
  12. Support Kaizen, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing activities.
  13. Coordinate with the supervisor, quality, maintenance, and other departments for smooth production.
  14. Properly hand over machine/process status to the next shift operator.

Required Skills/experience:
  • Basic knowledge of machine operation and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read drawings and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier calliper, micrometre, height gauge, etc.
  • Basic problem-solving and defect identification skills.
  • Understanding of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and Lean manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Good discipline, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a CNC machine shop
