The QAC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of engineering products and processes in accordance with relevant codes and standards. The key roles and responsibilities of the QAC Engineer are as follows:
- Possess good technical knowledge and expertise in engineering principles and practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, EN, and ISO, and ensure compliance in all engineering activities.
- Familiarity with Material Test Certificates (MTC) for various materials such as stainless steel (SS), carbon steel (CS), and other grades.
- Knowledge and experience in Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) to ensure welding processes meet code requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings accurately, and provide guidance to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Preferably, have experience working on ASME-coded jobs and demonstrate an understanding of ASME codes and standards.
- Proficiency in using SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) for quality control and documentation.
- Conduct stage and final inspections of Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers on the shop floor to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Familiarity with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods such as visual inspection, radiography, ultrasonic testing, and dye penetrant testing, and ensuring proper implementation.
- Knowledge of material grades and heat charts to ensure proper selection and use of materials in engineering processes.
- Coordinate with Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies and customers for inspections, audits, and certifications as per project requirements.
- Preferably, have experience working with gas coolers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other process equipment, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Witness pressure testing of pressure vessels as per code requirements and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Job Travellers for engineering projects to ensure proper quality control and documentation.
Skill sets/Experience we require:
- 5 to7 years of proven experience as a Quality Control Engineer
- Good knowledge of fabrication, materials & welding, and ASME codes.
- Certification of - NDE Level 2 - RT, PT, MT, VT, UT is preferred
- Handling all Customer/ Third-party inspections as per requirement.
Pedigree:
• Bachelor / Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The QAC Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, and customer representatives, to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements. The QAC Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining relevant documentation, conducting root cause analysis for non-conformances, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve the quality of engineering products and processes continuously.
